We are all most certainly lost as we come into the rooms of recovery. It’s like they say Came.. Came to.. Came to believe. The question is believe what? ....for in recovery circles, there are so many beliefs.
What we all have found is that perfect recovery is available to those who accept God into their lives and surrender their will. Perfect recovery is available to all, for it is not of us, but of God. Therein lies the explanation of why it finally worked after so many years of not working. As we received the grace and had the key of willingness to let go and let God... Bingo! we get the perfect divine love we need to stay sober.
Keeping a perfect recovery on track over time is the hard part. We get a “grace period ” but Discernment is the word that comes to mind... “You shall know them from their fruits” he said. Speaking for myself I have done everything wrong at least once in recovery, but the true light and way of Jesus has shone bright my perfect path one day at a time.
A friend in the rooms once said.. AA will help those who do not believe in God And AA will help those who do believe in God but AA is of no help whatsoever, to those who think they ARE God. This is the way back out for most of us EGO ( easing God out ) and a spirtual or religious belief system based on ego. You know what I’m talking about, the old..”I’m God Too” theroy. I remember a phrase that had me for some time.. I think the way they put it was... Self Acualization. I don’t think so! I am alive only by the grace of Christ and the only way I can stay on the path of truth is by daily putting on my armor of humility and keeping my faith and trust in our Lord the King of Kings.
With the sincere heart we are lead back to the one true source Jesus Christ. If it is peace we seek, not the way the world gives peace, then there is no other way. If you have tried Christianity before and failed, think back to your condition when you were attempting to make your divine Christ connection. If you are sober today, things are probably much different. Do not judge Christianity to harshly if you were not in a position in the past to receive the love our Lord has for you.
Remember it is only the Grace of Christ that has saved us all, for most of us were slowly committing suicide anonymously. The "Hound Of Heaven" stayed with us and through his precious blood gave us that divine moment of clarity and grace that we needed just when things seemed the darkest.
Our last day of addiction, the one we all thought was the worst, always turns out to be the very best. What a gift he gave us. Don’t ever worry or be afraid, just relax in the arms of Christ for you cannot ever add anything to the kingdom the power and the glory that he alone has restored for us all. He loves you. He always has and he always will. Praise be Jesus Christ Lord forever and ever Amen.
