For us in addiction the words "My Way" spell big trouble. If there is anything we have learned it is that "Our Way" does not work! The good news is that there is a way that does... "His Way". As we tell people often, our picker was busted when we came into recovery. It was Grace that brought us here and to be sure, it is His Grace that keep us here.
Its seems everything we have in recovery has been realized after the fact. I believe the biblical term is " Revealed". That is... God delivered and then we realize that we had it, Its a lot like they say about the come, come to, come to believe thing. The power is really in believing that we can get it and of course we can through submmision to Christ of our lives.
Why not believe in Jesus Christ?
When you read His life you see a perfect example of human kind. It is not He that we strive to become by following a path of rigorous honesty yet, how can we?
Someone once told us that God always asks YOU to do something YOU can't. He went on to explain that God wants you to have to rely on Him for the answers. So by asking for the impossible He draws us closer, for only by His grace, are these imposibilities possible.
Following His way is not easy for we are surrounded by a world out of control. The path is narrow, but it brings blessed peace and happiness. It is a simple path of real fullfillment in the Lord. For most of us, rather than making our way, it is a matter of letting go of old ideas that never really worked for us anyway and surrounding ourselves with true believers who can show us the way! Christ Peace be with you.
